Women's wool sweaters

A wool sweater stays warm even when damp and wrinkles little. Extra-fine merino can be worn next to the skin, mohair is lighter and airier, tweed is thicker. Wash on the wool cycle at 30 °C or by hand, dry flat.

A VoltÉlan women's wool sweater contains at least 40% wool: extra-fine merino, mohair blend, tweed, or wool combined with cashmere. The exact percentage is on every product page, along with measurements for each size.

Extra-fine merino is the wool that doesn't itch: a 17 to 19 micron fiber, comfortable against bare skin and machine washable on a wool cycle. Mohair makes an airy knit that keeps you warm without weight. Tweed is denser and wears like a jacket on dry days. The cashmere blend adds softness and warmth to a January turtleneck.

The knits come from the Italian brand Lèmme and run to European sizing. To keep them for several winters, wash at 30 °C at most, dry flat, and read our guide on protecting sweaters from moths. See also merino sweaters, cashmere sweaters and turtlenecks.
