Privacy policy - VoltÉlan
Last updated: September 2025
1. Introduction
VoltÉlan treats the protection of its customers' personal data as a priority. This policy sets out how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information.
2. Data controller
As data controller, VoltÉlan undertakes to comply with the personal data rules in force, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
3. Data we collect
3.1 Identification data
We collect what we need to provide our service: surname, first name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number.
3.2 Browsing data
The site automatically collects some technical information while you browse: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, time spent on the site.
4. Why we process it
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
- Handling and processing your orders
- Customer service and technical support
- Improving our service and tailoring your experience
- Marketing communication (with your prior consent)
- Meeting our legal and regulatory obligations
5. Legal basis
Processing rests on the following legal bases: performance of the contract, legitimate interest, consent and legal obligation.
Error monitoring and usage statistics
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., San Francisco, USA) detects JavaScript errors on the site. When an error occurs, it receives the error message, the page address, your browser and operating system, and a truncated technical context. Sentry sets no cookie.
Mixpanel (Mixpanel, Inc., San Francisco, USA) measures aggregate product usage, such as page views. Before you give consent, Mixpanel stores no identifier and does not use your IP address. After you consent, it stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage and derives your approximate location from your IP address, which it does not store.
Sentry error data is kept for 90 days. Mixpanel data is kept for the provider's default retention period. Both providers are based in the United States; for these transfers we rely on the standard contractual clauses.
6. Retention
Your data is kept for as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, in line with the legal obligations that apply.
7. Your rights
Under the applicable rules, you have the following rights:
- Right of access to your personal data
- Right to have inaccurate information corrected
- Right to erasure, in certain circumstances
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
8. Data security
We put appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to keep your personal data secure and to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
